A week after the JNU violence, the Delhi Police has asked nine suspects to join the probe on Monday.
As Delhi Police continues to face numerous questions over the JNU violence, it has identified over 50 people from a WhatsApp group and various videos, photos that went viral on social media.
The JNU Tapes released in India Today's sting operation has unmasked three people -- Akshat Awasthi, Rohit Shah and Komal Sharma, who are affiliated to ABVP and were involved in the violence. However, ABVP has denied that they are members of the outfit.
Meanwhile, another tape showed Left/AISA activist Geeta Kumari confessing that she was involved in shutting down the university servers at the time.
As the case unfolded, the police have sent notice to 49 people, including three featured in JNU tapes, to join the investigation.
Moreover, the Congress fact-finding team has rendered JNU Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar as the "mastermind" behind the January 5 violence and sought his immediate dismissal and criminal investigation against him.

1:15 pm: JNU issues advisory to 2 JNUTA officer bearers for their "non cooperation"
JNU has issued advisory to two JNUTA officer bearers who have given calls for "non cooperation" to agreement with MHRD to start classes and be a part of the registration process.
The JNU administration, in its advisory, said: "It has come to our notice that two JNU Teacher's Association office bearers have announced a 'non-cooperation plan'. It goes against the efforts for restoration of normalcy in campus and reflects the intention of JNUTA to disrupt normal functioning of University."

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration on Monday issued an advisory to teachers to resume their classes in the interest of students.
The advisory was issued after two JNU Teachers' Association officer bearers announced a "non cooperation" plan, the varsity said.

The Crime Branch had recorded statements of four teachers on Sunday. Total of 45 people have recorded their statements. All questioning to take place in JNU campus.
12:31 pm: Letter seeking CCTV footage sent to JNU, no response received yet: Delhi Police
During the Delhi High Court hearing, the Delhi Police said that a letter has been written to the university asking them to give CCTV footage and more information. However, no response to the letter has been given by the JNU administration yet.

11:50 am: Delhi police again blocks Baba Gang Nath Marg near JNU
After opening the road on Sunday, the Delhi police on Monday have again closed both carriageways of Baba Gang Nath Marg from Nelson Mandela Marg and Aruna Asaf Ali Marg due to demonstrations, Traffic Police informed.
The Baba Gang Nath Marg, leading to JNU's main entrance gate, had been mostly closed by the police after the January 5 violence in the university campus, a Delhi Traffic Police official told IANS.
11 am: A team of crime branch has reached inside the JNU campus. One more team would reach the university campus soon. Sources have said that the accused may be taken to the spot of the violence.

Sources in the Delhi Police said: "Those who have been served notice by the Delhi Police will be interrogated in the JNU violence case. Nine people have been told to join the investigation from today.

JNU student Shreya Sinha said, "What happened in JNU was wrong but now the situation there is better. The fight is not against the vice-chancellor. He is a father figure and we want him to talk to us."
Speaking on the hike in JNU hostel fees, she said: "There are many friends of mine whose mother works at Anganwadi and earns just Rs 6,000 a month, while their father is no more.

The masked girl (in chequered shirt) from a viral video (pertaining to JNU violence) has been identified as Komal Sharma, a second-year student of Delhi University. Police are tracing her to join probe.

9:00 am: Police calls 9 suspects to join probe on Monday
After an India Today TV’s sting operation unmasked ABVP activist Akshat Awasthi’s involvement in the January 5 JNU violence, Delhi Police has asked him to join the probe. Awasthi was asked to join the probe with Rohit Shah, another person who was caught in the sting.
Meanwhile, police interrogated a warden, 13 security guards and five students in connection with the violence at JNU. Seven more people from WhatsApp group Unity Against Left’ have been identified.
The Crime Branch had called Awasthi twice to come to its Kamla Market office in order to join the probe along with Rohit Shah. Awasthi had assured the crime branch that he would join probe but he did not go to the crime branch office and switched off his phone.
